JUMP FOR YOUR BONES
Jumping rope three times a week may increase your bone density. And if you have arthritis, your pain may ease as your joint stability improves. For the most benefit, do at least 50 jumps at a comfortable pace, jump no more than 5 inches in the air, and land flat-footed to distribute the force.
MUSCLE DOWN YOUR WEIGHT
If you haven’t added weight training to your workout routine, you might want to give it a try. Women who regularly work out with weights not only increase muscle mass but also boost their metabolism. If you are worried about “bulking up,” don’t be. Lift lighter weights and more repetitions to avoid looking like the Hulk.
ACT “AS IF”
When you are working toward a goal, one positive thing you can do is to act as if you’ve made it. Believing that you will obtain your desires is the first step in the process. Many athletes visualize an outcome, such as winning a race, before it actually happens. Do you want a new job? A healthy, loving relationship? First, believe that it will happen, visualize that it has happened, and then take action to make it true. The outcome may amaze you.
I THINK, THEREFORE I AM
What you think about yourself may impact how you appear to others. If you think you’re not too bright, most people will probably think that, too. If you believe you are confident, more than likely others will see you that way. Even if you don’t believe good things about yourself, you can talk yourself into it. Eventually, just as you come to believe the negative thoughts about yourself, you will come to believe the positive things.
